MPP - infrastructure
The policy engine is at the core of MPP. It is a scalable way to create per-domain, per-group or per-direction configurations. Almost every MPP configuration element can be configured on a per-policy basis such as scanner choices, security features, compliance features, scanning actions, spam thresholds, access-lists and more.
Policies are created in the MPP configuration module and users are assigned to existing policies. Policy membership can be stored in a standard LDAP directory, text files or a database.
- Do not spam scan outgoing mail for the marketing department
- Discard spam for sales, but mark subjects for legal department
- Send warning messages in German to customer A and French to customer B
- SpamAssassin and ClamAV for free customers, Cloudmark and Sophos for payinge customers.
- Archival for brokers, no archive for back office employees
- Brokers can talk to analysts, sales can speak to all
- Some can send email to Internet, others only can send internally or to known customers.
